Senior Scholarships 2020-21

Below is a list of scholarships for seniors; the majority become available 2nd semester. Students can stop by the guidance office for application materials if interested or in most cases complete an online application by clicking on the name of the scholarship below.  Please do not wait until the deadline to turn in your application or ask for letters of recommendation; be aware of deadlines and specific requirements. This list will be updated as new scholarships come in and old ones expire.

The application for filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid for the 2021-22 academic year is still open. All your students need to do is gather their family's 2019 tax forms and log onto studentaid.gov to begin their application.

The priority deadline is Feb. 1, but the experts say the quicker the better.

Kohl Excellence Scholarship Program ($10,000)

  • Leadership

  • Essay and must have 3 letters of recommendation. 
  • Refer to the Scoring Rubric link to see how the committee scores your application.
  • 14 awards given for Independent/Religious Schools
  • Deadline: 11-17-2020 at 5:00pm Central Time

National Honors Society Scholarship ($3,200, $5625, $25,000)

  • Current high school senior graduating with the class of 2021
  • Enrolled at a school with an active NHS chapter.
  • Planning to enroll at a U.S. college or university in Fall 2021
  • Active NHS member in good standing with a verified student account.
    • NHS advisers must verify each student account, which grants the member access to the NHS Scholarship application.
    • Members will receive an email confirming the verification of their student account.
    • Important: Do not attempt to log into the application site until you receive confirmation that your NHS adviser has verified your account. You will not be able to access the application.
  • All applications must be accompanied by one recommendation and a certification by the NHS adviser by the deadline in order to be considered complete. 
  • Incomplete applications are not evaluated.
  • Deadline: 12-1-20 by 5 pm. This includes all applications, the certification, and recommendation.

Engineers Foundation of Wisconsin Scholarship ($2,000)

  • Graduating HS seniors who plan to study engineering in college next year.

UW- La Crosse- Ron & Teri Wilczek Family Scholarship Fund ($1000)

  • Enrolled full-time at UWL
  • In good academic standing
  • Graduate of Columbus Catholic High School (Marshfield) or if no CCHS recipient would consider a graduate from Greenwood High School, with further preference to Marshfield High School graduates
  • Incoming freshman, sophomore, junior or senior
  • Financial need must be considered
  • Statement of financial need must be submitted with application.  
  • To apply: you must activate UWL NetID/Email account before signing into the scholarship system. Activate your UWL account HERE.  Indicate which high school you attend (Please provide school name and city/town of location).
  • Deadline: 2-1-21

Wisconsin Professional Police Association Scholarship (Various Amounts)

  • Must enroll in a 2 or 4-year college next year in a law enforcement related field. 
  • Deadline: 2-1-2021

UW-Madison Alumni Club of the Marshfield Area Scholarship ($1000)

  • Must attend UW-Madison next fall. 
  • Past academic achievements
  • Outside community activities and/or employment
  • School activities
  • Faculty and counselor recommendations
  • Use your NetID that you created when you applied to the UW to log into the WiSH site and then complete the general application to be eligible for specific scholarships which include this for the Marshfield Area Chapter under the Wisconsin Alumni Association.
  • Several $1,000 awards to Marshfield area graduates
  • Deadline: 2-3-2021

UWSP- Marshfield Campus Scholarships ($1000 on average)

  • Must attend UWSP-Marshfield next fall
  • To apply go online HERE
  • Deadline: 12-1-20 (priority) 2-15-21 (late round)

Marshfield Elk's U.S. Constitution Contest ($150-1st place, $125-2nd place, $100-3rd place)

  • 40 question, multiple-choice exam at Marshfield Elks Lodge
  • Essay question for tie-breaker
  • Date: Saturday, 2-20-21 at 10:00 am
  • Applications are available in the guidance office.         
  • Deadline: 2-17-21 (registration form due)

Marathon County Farm Bureau Scholarship ($500)

  • Marathon County residents only
  • Additional consideration for Family holding Marathon Co. Farm Bureau membership
  • Prefer applicants enrolling in agriculture.
  • Deadline: 3-1-2021

American Legion Riders District 8 Scholarship ($1000)

  • Offered to a boy and a girl
  • Must be a son, daughter, step-son, step-daughter, grandson, or granddaughter of a veteran or active duty service member
  • Must reside in one of the following Wisconsin Counties: Marathon, Menomonie, Portage, Shawano, Waupaca, Waushara, and Wood.
  • Awarded Spring of Senior year of High School.

Marshfield Eagles Aerie #624 Scholarships (1-$750, 3-$500)

  • Must have at least one parent or grandparent who is a member in good standing of Eagle Aerie #624 or Auxiliary.  
  • GPA = 2.75+
  • Two letters of recommendation confirming completion of service activity
  • Must attend accredited post secondary institution next fall
  • Typed essay explaining future plans
  • Awards: Local-$750, $500(2); State- $500
  • Deadline: 3-1-21

Marshfield Youth Soccer Association (MYSA) Scholarship ($500)

  • Class of 2021
  • Pursuing a degree at an accredited college next year
  • Essay, letter of recommendation, and transcript required.

Marshfield Area Community Foundation Scholarships

  • Application site opens Dec. 14, 2020
  • Apply HERE
  • Create User Name/Password; complete Eligibility form; complete the additional information requested from your list of eligible scholarships you receive from MACF.
  • Deadline: 3-2-21- MACF must receive all application materials to be considered for a scholarship

Below are some MACF Scholarships (italicized) that CCHS graduates have received in past years that may show up on your eligibility list.  You fill out just one application to see if you’re eligible for the scholarships below and even more possible scholarships in the Marshfield area.

  • Norbert and Joan La See Scholarship — Prefer students seeking a career in the trades at a 2 or 4-year college.  Not based on financial need. Renewable. Award: varies                   
  • Marilyn Hardacre Scholarship — Prefer graduating senior seeking a degree in the area of political science or public administration; based on academic standing and extra-curricular activities; not based on financial need. Award: $500 (1 award to a CCHS Graduate)
  • Paul and Jo Ann Schreiner Scholarship — Must attend in-state Technical College or 4-year college next year and going into the trades, financial need, active in the community. Award: $1000
  • Richard and Elaine Cliver Scholarship — Must attend post-secondary education in the fall. Award: $500 (5 awards for CCHS Graduates) 
  • Fore Bill- Bill Allen Memorial Scholarship — Must pursue a degree next year in business, education, engineering, finance, marketing, math, music, health care, or a medically related field; a senior from MHS or CCHS; GPA 3.0+. Award: $500  
  • Jacob Navarro Memorial Scholarship — Must be a full-time student pursuing a degree in an art related field at an accredited school, technical college, or university. Award: $500 (2 awards)      
  • Jewel Scholarship — Graduates of either MHS or CCHS enrolling on a full-time basis at UWSP-Marshfield. Preference is given to students intending to major in Business/Economics.  Award: varies

Federated Youth Foundation Scholarship ($500)

  • Student’s family must be a member of Clark Electric Cooperative and currently be receiving residential service
  • 2.5+ GPA
  • Continuing education next fall
  • Financial need and extra-curricular activities

Our Future is in Agriculture Scholarship ($500)

  • Must pursue Ag related field at an accredited school next year to prepare for a career in agriculture or a related field.

Chris Boyer Memorial Scholarship ($500)

  • Must attend Chippewa Valley Technical College and pursue Police Science or Criminal Justice program.
  • Deadline: 3-15-21

Dr. Gordon Backer Memorial Scholarship (Eye Clinic of Wisconsin) ($1000)

  • Must graduate from a high school in Central WI
  • 3.3+ GPA
  • Should be intending to pursue a medically-related field full time at a 2 or 4-year college/university next fall.
  • Deadline: 3-16-21

Forward Financial Bank Scholarship Program (8-$500)

  • Must pursue a degree at an accredited college next year.  
  • Essay
  • 2 letters of recommendation
  • Wisconsin residents only
  • Deadline: 3-19-21

Marshfield Sunrise Rotary — Service Above Self Scholarship ($500)

  • Must demonstrate honesty, dependability, empathy, and integrity through volunteer activities that help others in our community.  
  • GPA 2.75+
  • Must attend 2 or 4-year college next year.
  • Deadline: 3-31-21  

Marshfield Sunrise Rotary — Work-Based Learning Scholarship ($500)

  • Must currently be a student who participates in the Youth Apprenticeship or Co-op/Internship program or who is currently employed in an industry related to the student’s future field of interest
  • Must be a HS senior residing in Marshfield or surrounding community planning to attend an accredited educational institution next year.  
  • Deadline: 3-31-21  

ProVision Cooperative Scholarship ($500)

  • Must reside within ProVision's Central Wisconsin Trade Territory
  • Based on scholastic achievement, leadership, and written essay.
  • Preference to Agriculture-related degrees and Customers of ProVision Partners Cooperative.
  • Deadline: 3-31-21

Wisconsin Elk’s Technical College Scholarship ($500)

  • Must attend a Wisconsin Technical College next year
  • Applications available at www.wielks.com — click on forms & publications, then forms, then Technical College Scholarship Application.
  • Deadline: 4-1-21

Citizens State Bank of Loyal Scholarship ($500)

  • Must be a graduating senior in the Marshfield Area.
  • Application HERE

ISA - International Society of Automation Scholarship ($1500-$2500)

  • Must pursue an automation or process control related course of study terminating in either an associate's or bachelor's degree from any accredited college or university. 
  • Scholarship will be awarded upon successful completion of the first semester of study.
  • Must complete the application form and submit a formal essay on the topic provided on the essay sheet. High School transcript should also be included.

  • Awards are one $2,500 scholarship and four $1,500 scholarships.
  • Deadline: 4-2-21

Kiwanis Club of Marshfield Scholarship ($500)

  • Must graduate from CCHS or MHS and attend UWSP-Marshfield or MSTC.
  • Based on extra-curricular activities in school and in the community.  
  • Awarded to one CCHS or MHS senior
  • Deadline: 4-6-21

Lions International Scholarship Award ($500)

  • Must enter a post-secondary program next fall. 
  • Awarded to one CCHS senior
  • Deadline: 4-6-20

First State Bank Scholarship ($500)

  • Student (or student's parent) must be a First State Bank Customer
  • Must be enrolling with an accredited college, university, or technical school on a full-time basis for the term immediately following graduation from high school.
  • Deadline: 4-12-21

Marshfield Fast Pitch Scholarship (2-$500)

  • Must have participated on a Marshfield Fast Pitch Tournament Team for at least one season
  • Must plan to pursue a degree next fall at a 2 or 4-year college next year.
  • Deadline: 4-15-21

Wilderness Sportsmen’s Club Scholarship ($2000)

  • Min. GPA=2.5 in grades 11 & 12
  • Pursuing post-secondary program in Natural Resources or an associated field next fall.  
  • One recipient per high school
  • Award may be divided among applicants
  • Application HERE

Loraine B. Ross Scholarship - First Choice Credit Union ($600)

  • Graduate from high school this spring
  • Must attend a 2 or 4 year school this fall
  • Have (maintain) at least a 2.5 GPA
  • Student or parent must be a member at First Choice Credit Union
  • Call, stop by, or email First Choice Credit Union at service@firstchoicecreditunion.com for an application.
  • Deadline: 4-30-21

James J. Zahradka Scholarship - First Choice Credit Union ($500)

  • Graduate from high school this spring
  • Must attend a 2 or 4 year school this fall
  • Have (maintain) at least a 2.5 GPA
  • Student or parent must be a member at First Choice Credit Union

Nekoosa Credit Union Scholarship ($1000)

  • Must attend accredited college next fall
  • Parent must be an established NCU member.
  • Deadline: 5-1-21

Wisconsin Business World Scholarship (3-$500)

  • Students (grades 6-12) should write an essay of no longer than 1,000 words that highlights the importance of business in their community and the incredible way they are witnessing companies in Wisconsin respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. Use specific examples of businesses being a Force for Good in Wisconsin during the pandemic and cite your sources, if applicable (APA or MLA formats are acceptable).
  • Entries will be judged on creativity and originality, with special attention to critical thinking that highlights the research and evidence to support the topic: Business is a Force for Good. All essays will be read and judged by WMC staff and prize winners will be announced in May.  Access application HERE.
