The Marshfield Area Coalition for Youth (MACY) is proud to announce that Tom Farley will be presenting virtually in the coming weeks to our area. Tom is the brother of the late Chris Farley, who is best known for his time on the show Saturday Night Live, in addition to the movie roles he had. Chris had substance abuse struggles that eventually claimed his life. Being the older brother, Tom watched and lived through his brother's struggles. The perspective he offers has been known to captivate audiences.
Original plans were to have Tom come to the area but because of the pandemic, it has been adapted to be done virtually. Tom grew up in Madison, WI and graduated from Georgetown University with a degree in Marketing. He began his career in banking and finance, living and working in the New York City area. From 1999 to 2012, he ran The Chris Farley Foundation, a nationally recognized non-profit dedicated to substance abuse prevention. Like his brother, Tom was successful in opening the “eyes and ears” of youth audiences through the powerful and effective use of humor. In 2008 he wrote “The Chris Farley Show”, a New York Time bestselling biography of his late brother, the actor and comedian Chris Farley. He has been interviewed on The Today Show, Good Morning America, Larry King Live, Fox News and The View. He has also been featured in People Magazine, USA Today and several national and regional newspapers and publications. Today Tom is a motivational speaker, delivering messages on prevention and recovery, and the use of Improv as a tool to foster better communications in business. Tom lives in Madison, WI.
Funds to support this were received through the State Opioid Response Grant awarded to MACY. Columbus Catholic Schoolsis excited to have the opportunity to hear and see Tom speak. We encourage you to spread the word, as well as stay tuned for more information on when this will be viewed by our students along with when it will be made available to the community.
