Welcome

The stories of our students, classrooms, teams, clubs, and school events are what make Columbus Catholic Schools special, and we cannot share them without your help.

Teachers, coaches, advisors, staff, and volunteers are encouraged to submit photos, videos, and story ideas so we can celebrate the many ways our students grow in faith, knowledge, service, academics, athletics, fine arts, and extracurricular activities.

To ensure all official Columbus Catholic Schools social media content reflects our mission and meets branding and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), the Admissions & Marketing Office manages our official social media accounts and partners with staff to create engaging, accessible, and consistent content.

Thank you for partnering with us to showcase the incredible things happening every day at Columbus Catholic Schools!

Official Social Media Channels

The official Columbus Catholic Schools social media channels are:

Athletics content may be shared on either the Columbus Catholic Schools Facebook page or the Columbus Dons Booster Club Facebook page, depending on the audience and type of content.

Sport-Specific Facebook Pages

To ensure consistent branding and compliance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), individual sport-specific Facebook pages will no longer be updated.

These pages will remain available as historical archives; however, no new content will be posted. Each page will include a notice directing followers to the Columbus Catholic Dons Athletics Facebook page for current athletics news and updates.

Requesting a Social Media Post

Please email all social media requests to marketing@columbusdons.org.

To help the Admissions & Marketing Office create engaging, informative, and timely posts, please include:

  • A maximum of five (5) photos per request.
  • A brief caption describing the event, activity, accomplishment, or what students are learning.
  • Student names, grade levels, team names, or club names when appropriate.
  • Any important details, such as dates, scores, awards, registration information, or links.

Photo Submission Exceptions

Some events naturally lend themselves to photo slideshows. Additional photos may be submitted for major school events such as:

  • Grandparents Day
  • School concerts
  • Homecoming
  • Graduation
  • Other significant school celebrations

Additional photos for these events may be approved on a case-by-case basis.

Student Photo Permissions

Before submitting photos or videos, please verify that every student pictured has a current media release on file.

If a submitted photo includes a student with a NO PHOTO designation, please identify the student(s) so the Admissions & Marketing Office can edit or omit them before publication.

Because the Admissions & Marketing Office cannot personally identify every student, staff members and coaches are responsible for verifying media permissions before submitting photos.

To assist with this process:

  • Staff members will receive access to a Google Sheet identifying students with NO PHOTO designations.
  • Coaches will receive a list of athletes on their teams who have NO PHOTO designations from the Athletic Secretary.

Photos or videos containing students without media permission cannot be published.

Submission Timeline

To allow adequate time for writing, graphic design, accessibility review, scheduling, and approval, please submit requests according to the following guidelines:

General announcements and celebrations

  • At least one (1) business day before the requested posting date whenever possible.

Major events, registration campaigns, fundraising campaigns, and marketing initiatives

  • At least two (2) weeks before the requested posting date whenever possible.

While every effort will be made to accommodate last-minute requests, publication cannot be guaranteed.

For urgent requests, such as weather cancellations, schedule changes, or emergency announcements, please include URGENT in the email subject line.

Editorial Guidelines

To maintain a consistent voice, professional appearance, and accessible content across all official Columbus Catholic Schools social media channels:

  • Posts may be edited for grammar, clarity, length, branding, accessibility, or scheduling.
  • Graphics may be redesigned to meet Columbus Catholic Schools branding standards and WCAG accessibility requirements.
  • Submission of photos or information does not guarantee publication.
  • The Admissions & Marketing Office determines the timing, platform, and scheduling of all official social media posts to ensure a balanced and effective content calendar.

Accessibility (WCAG)

Columbus Catholic Schools is committed to making our communications accessible to everyone.

All content published through our official social media channels will follow Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), including:

  • Accessible graphic design
  • Appropriate color contrast
  • Readable fonts and text sizes
  • Alternative (alt) text for images
  • Consistent branding and formatting

These standards help ensure our communications can be accessed and enjoyed by all members of our school community.
