Classroom Lessons
Classroom lessons are an essential part of the elementary school counseling program and play an important role in each student’s academic success. One of the most effective ways school counselors help prevent academic and behavioral challenges is through large-group guidance lessons focused on topics such as self-esteem, peer relationships, stress, and managing emotions.
These lessons are preventive in nature, designed to reach all students, and are taught in the classroom by the counselor. Additional topics may include empathy, problem-solving, and anger management skills, helping students build confidence and positive connections both in and out of the classroom.
