Extended (After School) Care

Columbus Catholic Schools offers Extended (After School) Care at two of our locations for our registered students in grades Preschool through 5th grade. Extended Care is available from afternoon dismissal until 5:30 p.m. on regularly scheduled school days. Preschool through 2nd grade students attend Extended Care at St. John the Baptist Primary School. 3rd through 5th Grade students attend Extended Care at Our Lady of Peace Intermediate School. Message from our SJBP Extended Care Director

Welcome to Extended Care!

We provide a safe and loving environment for all children here at SJBP Extended Care. Children are separated into three groups by age and each group has their own supervision. We have many activities to keep the children occupied. Some of these activities are:

  • Homework help for 1st and 2nd graders; during the first 45 minutes homework is mandatory. I have found this to be very beneficial to the children, their parents and teachers.
  • Free playtime. During this time, children go in the cafeteria an activity of their choosing. They can color and draw or we have a wide variety of age appropriate toys and games to choose from.
  • Gym or outside play. During this time they will get some exercise and get all the wiggles out of their system.
  • Daily activity. During this time we have arts and crafts.

We will provide a snack. This will vary daily and we do accommodate any food allergies.  I look forward to seeing everyone!

Message from our OLPI Extended Care Director

Hello Students and Parents:

I cannot wait to meet all of you, whether you may be new students or returning students.  As always, all are welcome to join the Our Lady of Peace Intermediate School After School Care Program with me, Mrs. Hackel, and my entire staff of Student Aides.  

In the Extended Care Program, I encourage everyone to be able to exceed in schoolwork while also having fun! I have planned new and old activities that we can participate in together to promote new or old friendships among fellow schoolmates, teamwork skills, all in a faith-based learning environment.
