Earned Privileges Program (EPP)
The Earned Privileges Program recognizes juniors and seniors who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, exemplary behavior, and consistent attendance. Students who qualify earn increased autonomy during designated non-instructional periods. This program replaces the former Open Campus designation.
Eligibility & Review
Eligibility is reviewed after mid-quarter and quarter grade reports. Students must continue to meet all criteria to remain in the program.
Academic Requirements
Students must meet the following Quarter GPA (Q-GPA) standards:
- Seniors: 3.8 Q-GPA or higher
- Juniors: 3.95 Q-GPA or higher
Additional Academic Criteria
- No individual course grade below a C
- Compliance with all Athletic/Activity Code guidelines
- First Quarter Eligibility: Determined using the prior year’s cumulative GPA
Behavioral Expectations
- No detentions or suspensions
- Any behavioral infraction results in immediate loss of privileges.
Attendance Requirements
- Zero (0) unexcused tardies per semester
- Zero (0) unexcused absences
Procedures & Guidelines
Earned Privileges are granted during a student’s assigned Study Hall period once all requirements are met and parental permission is on file.
Check-In & Accountability
- Students must check in with their assigned Study Hall teacher for attendance.
- Students must inform the teacher of their location during the period.
Approved Locations
Students may use the following designated, supervised areas:
- Media Center (Library)
- Fieldhouse Commons Area
- Lunch Room (outside scheduled lunch periods)
Restricted Areas
Students may not:
- Be in classrooms during active instruction
- Leave school grounds under any circumstances
- Be in unsupervised or restricted areas (hallways, locker rooms, parking lots)
Policy Enforcement
- Quarterly Review: Students who lose privileges may re-qualify at the next review period if all standards are met
- Immediate & Permanent Revocation: Any detention, suspension, or attempt to leave campus results in loss of EPP status for the remainder of the school year
- Misuse of Privileges: Students without EPP status who attempt to use privileges will face disciplinary action and lose eligibility for one quarter once earned
Parental Permission
A current, signed parental permission form must be submitted to the Main Office before a student may participate in the Earned Privileges Program.
